Perdy again--this time my clever friend Finn helped me type!

I have a good friend called Finn. He’s a very clever dog and his parents helped him to learn how to type. They made this special extension he uses and then he can type more easily.
OK--- Great news. I am staring in a new book by Neil. It is called ‘Talk To Me.’  I’m on the front cover along with Jasmine. Neil took the picture one day when I was trying to pretend that I hadn’t seen Jasmine sitting on the BBQ outside. It’s a pretty cool picture.
In the book, my name has been changed to ‘Spot.’ for ‘privacy reason.’ I’m a very much PC dog, not like Neil. You should hear what he says sometimes. It’s enough to make my paws curl up in embarrassment.
In the book, Gary is a Talk Back radio host and I am his special Jack Russell pet. Some of the ways he describes me (yes I know, because he made me sit and listen to him while he read it to me) are a bit too close to the mark. I reckon that I’m gonna get free doggie biscuits once the book comes out this week. (Mid-September)
OH--- you wanna know how to buy it? Well just go to his website or if you know him--- just ask and he’ll arrange a price. Buy it so I can continue to eat ---and that goes for Jasmine too. The website is
Don’t forget his other books---- ‘Roskill’—wow that made me cry and laugh at the same time.  Also----‘Coastal Yarns.’ He wrote that when I was a puppy. It’s has funny and even spooky short stories. My favourites are the ones about me----- yes I’m in that too. The stories about The ‘Girls’ Weekend are a bit naughty.
Woof woof--- isn’t that what I am supposed to say?

The voices of reason may yet prevail in Victoria.

Evidence that the vast majority of people following all religions speak and act in a reasonable manner surfaced today in Victoria Australia. Muslim leaders have made a plea that the riots in Sydney must not spread south. The leader’s claims that the behaviours exhibited in Sydney are abhorrent, echoing the views of most Australians.
This is what is needed more. People need to speak out without fear about what we are witnessing around the Islamic world and in cities in Europe, Africa and the USA. We must not be held ransom, fearing to discuss religion in a rational way. If religion cannot stand up to scrutiny, then it is baseless. Surely healthy discussions can only strengthen a person’s faith, no matter what the religion.

I am sickened by the messages of hate we are seeing on Sydney's streets!

We must never underestimate the messages of violence that some members of various religions thrust upon us. Islam is not alone in this. It seems that any criticism of the said groups is met with hate, violence and totally over-the-top reactions.
To see placards carried by angry people stating that ‘behead all those who insult Islam' is a message of hate, and under the laws of many nations, that is a ‘hate crime’ in itself and should be treated as such.
It is becoming pretty obvious that the ‘perpetrator’ of the film that has caused so much anger and hurt, is nothing but a charlatan and a fraudster. I wish that those streaming onto the streets, ready to commit violence against the police would open their minds and take into account the ‘facts’ surrounding this unfortunate episode. It seems that they do not want to know. They use this event to promulgate their own agenda—one that will not sit with most Australians.
Sure, be faithful but where is the love that most religions purport to claim as their own. Australia will only take so much before an anti-movement, equally ignorant will take to the streets in response. Unfortunately, hate will be met with hate. Hate does not belong in Australia and nor does intolerance. Those who arrive on the shores of this proud and lucky nation should embrace the spirit of the country and take advantage of the opportunities to live a safe and rich life.
The response of the police must be swift and those responsible for feeding the hate dealt with. The one thing we can assume is that unlike in the nations many of these protesters (yes I know, some are born in Australia—more shame on them!) came from, they will be treated fairly by the justice system. They will not be tortured, they will not ‘disappear,’ their families will not be targeted and they will be able to protests again--- but not with violence.
We should not cower down to rabble who turn our streets into thoroughfares of hate. Dig deep, my Australian friends. You are going to need a good deal of tolerance over the next few days. Show the world that which Australia holds true. Do not allow extremism in any form become accepted in your wonderful country.
PS.  The organization which produced the abhorrent film is culpable of hate crimes and should face the consequences of the law in the USA.

I fear for freedom in Russia

Many Russians must feel let down since the fall of the Soviet Union. What began as a ‘new dawn’ with real hope for the future is gradually being eroded by Putin and his cohorts. The latest news that an anti-Putin Member of Parliament has been expelled (not sure if he is in prison yet) for his strong stand against Putin.
Sure, Mr Putin has expressed his desire that Pussy Riot has had enough time in prison, but that is just a cynical manipulation of his powers. I think what Putin wants, Putin gets.
Oh well, get used to it my Russian readers. It won’t be long before until the new State will impose censorship on what you can read what you wish----goodbye my blog.
Take action before it is too late. Remember what happened in Germany in the 1930’s? The German people allowed a despot to rule them with unlimited powers. Surely you have suffered enough from dictators, both internally and from outside. Beware the return of Stalanism, or is that what you actuallly want?
